“But, girl, what am I gonna do with my hair?”– Black women, everywhere, a lot of the time
As a 13-year marketing pro, Tifair Hamed saw a distinct problem and created a solution. She noticed that fashionable hair wraps could solve a number small and large anxieties Black women may have with their hair: everything from putting off workouts to protect hairstyles to covering hair loss that came from illnesses.
So, in 2016, Tifair connected with family in Lagos and launched The Influence, an attire line that seeks to empower women entrepreneurs in Nigeria. Her vibrant, satin lined head wraps make her customers feel beautiful, pushing away the what-about-my-hair worry that so many women face on a daily basis.
